Year 5

Year 5

Welcome to Year 5!

During the school year, the children will be covering a range of units as part of their studies. From mountains to Chinese art, Ancient Baghdad to astronomy; the children will learn about exciting topics to grab their interest.

Our Maths and English lessons cover all of the necessary objectives to best prepare the children for the end of Year 5 and begin preparing the children for their Year 6 SATS.  Two key areas of support would be to help your child practise their times tables and read with your child to check for understanding and vocabulary comprehension.

Please take a look at our Year 5 Curriculum Overview for further details about what the children will be doing at school each half term.

We also enjoy some exciting activities for the children; not least Year 5 swimming lessons and Bikeability.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to your child's class teacher.

With thanks,

Year 5 Staff
